Issues and stakes

Large parts of Stockholm were built in the early 20th century. Birger Jarls gatan represents a typical masonry building, with business premises on the first floor and several apartments on the next 5 floors. Today the building hosts offices, restaurants and a gym. The building is located in the heart of the city centre. Originally, pre-mixed, lime based mortar was  used for these buildings. Companies like “Nya Murbruksfabriken” had plants all over Stockholm delivering, lime, sand and pre-mixed mortar for the construction industry. The oldest pre-mix plant can be traced back to 1889. As a result of mergers and organic growth, Weber in Sweden has emerged as from several of these old companies that used to deliver construction materials in and around Stockholm.
